Scraps of paper and cloth retain memories of those that held them out of love, utility, or obligation. Paper yellows and turns brittle with age, giving beauty to the mundane. Faded and frayed materials have character that can't be immitated. I am combining fragments that have their own history with my vision to honor the past and embrace the moment. By adding paint I bridge the past and present to unify the fragments. Each piece is a collaboration with countless hands that left their mark and my personal signature that reinvented them.
